3 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp nutmeg

2 tsp salt (or to taste)

8 tbsp unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 medium size onion (blended to make 1 cup)

4 cups oil (for frying)

How to make it:

In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, nutmeg, salt and lightly mix everything together. Then add the butter, massage the butter into the flour until it’s well incorporated.

Blend the onion with 3 tablespoons of water then gradually add it to the flour. Mix until it forms into a tight dough.

Transfer the dough onto a well floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough flat.

Use a knife and cut the flattened dough into long strips. Then cut into smaller diagonal shapes.

On a medium heat, heat the oil and fry the chips until they are golden brown in color. This should take about 5 to 8 minutes. Remember to fry them in small batches.

Take them out and rest them on a paper towel. This will help get rid of any extra excess oil.

Enjoy!
