In this recipe, I will be showing you 3 different types of flavors. A creamy milk flavor (which is basically the base starter for the rest of the popsicles/abelewos we are going to be making in this recipe), a chocolate flavor and Orange flavor. This is a great summer treat for the whole family, and very easy to make. They refreshing and delicious.

Ingredients:

4 cups heavy cream

2 cups whole milk

1 can (14 oz) condensed milk

1 cup concentrated orange juice or any orange juice of your choice

2 tbsp chocolate powder

1/4 cup water (to dissolve the chocolate powder)

Steps:

As stated above, the first flavor is going to be the base mixture for the other two flavors in this recipe.

The Milk flavor:

In a large bowl, mix whole milk, heavy cream and condensed milk together. Whisk to make sure the condensed milk is well incorporated. That is it for the first flavor.

Now, take about 2 cups of the milk mixture (add some vanilla extract if you prefer) and pour it into popsicle molds, check it out HERE. You can also use small popsicle bags, check that out HERE, disposable plastic cups or kids cups. Basically any small container that can survive in the freezer will work. Freeze for 8 hours.

The Creamy orange flavor:

Take 2 cups of the milk based mixture and stir in the concentrated orange juice. I prefer the concentrated orange juice because it is thicker than a regular orange juice. You can find it in the frozen ale section in any grocery store. But, you can definitely use a regular orange juice or freshly squeezed orange juice if that is what you have.

Transfer it into popsicle molds then, freeze them for at least 8 hour to harden.

The Chocolate flavor:

In a small container, add 1/4 cup of warm water and stir in 2 tablespoons of chocolate powder. Then, take 2 cups or the rest of the milk mixture left from making the first two flavors and mix in the chocolate mixture.

Again pour it in molds or bags to make popsicles or abelewo.

Tip: I topically make these in the evening and then freeze them overnight. That way they are ready by morning.

After 8 hour, take the popsicles out. Stick the bottom part of the mold in a slightly warm but not hot water to help with taking the popsicle out of the molds.

Enjoy these treats in the summer or all year round.
